WHO IS CHER LLOYD?
Cher Lloyd (born 28 July 1993) is an English recording artist. Lloyd rose to fame when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor. Shortly afterwards, Lloyd was signed by Simon Cowell to Sony Music subsidiary Syco Music.
Cher Lloyd's debut single "Swagger Jagger" was released in June 2011. Despite receiving negative reviews, the single entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the Irish Singles Chart. Her second single "With Ur Love" was released on 31 October, featuring Mike Posner, and peaked at number four in the UK, and number five in Ireland, preceding her debut album Sticks + Stones, which peaked at number four in the UK Albums Chart and number seven on the Irish Albums Chart. She has recently debuted her third single "Want U Back" on May 22, 2012 in the US and achieved Platinum status for selling over 1,000,000 copies.

Cher Lloyd is certainly no stranger to the small screen. She got her start as a contestant on “X Factor” U.K., and now U.S. audiences will be treated to her bold, feisty persona when she appears on “Big Time Rush.”
“I’m very nervous to see it, actually. I haven’t seen it and this is the first thing I’ve ever really done within acting. You know because I’m a singer I can kind of be let off a little bit if it’s rubbish,” she laughed to MTV News. “I had such a great time there. And it was kind of crazy because you see the other actors and actresses and they’re so young and yet they’ve been doing it for such a long time. They’re so experienced. And then someone like me who gets to be onstage all the time, it was quite difficult.”
Cher plays herself in an episode airing Thursday on Nick. Her drama revolves around Big Time Rusher James, who creates an Internet rumor he’s recording with the Brit pop singer. Lloyd added, “I was very impressed and kind of blown away by the fact that they were so good.”

After her “BTR” appearance airs, Cher will put the finishing touches on her sophomore album. And, on it, the “Want U Back” singer is set to show the world how much she’s grown as a performer since dropping Sticks & Stones.
“I would say that the album’s almost done now and I’m very excited about it. But I feel like the person I am now is very different to the person I was two years ago when I recorded Sticks & Stones. And I feel like I’ve obviously grown up and I have such a different opinion of the world we live in now. And I have different opinions on how I am musically and how I am personally,” she said. “And that definitely shows through on many of the tracks on the new album.”
Cher Lloyd Locks In Cameos With Demi Lovato, Ne-Yo!
While Lloyd is known for gutsy, up-tempo jams, she’ll slow it down more on her next release. She added that she doesn’t “feel like I’m the bubble gum princess I used to be.”
“It’s gonna make a lot of people aware of the fact that I feel very strong and I feel very ready and that’s the whole vibe I’m giving off with this next album,” she said. “Just listening back to some of the songs that I recorded, I feel great about the fact that people are actually going to be able to hear me sing and to really hear my voice. There a good couple of songs on this next album that could probably bring up a tear or two.”
There are many people who try to have a pop at shows such as The X Factor and The Voice, claiming that the shows unveil acts who are ruining the music scene. However, The X Factor has produced so many stars over the years, including the highly talented Cher Lloyd. Cher has made some big moves in the US, working with some big stars and she has talked about her collaboration with Demi Lovato.
Talking to MTV News, Lloyd explained:
“First of all, I love the song. Like, I really love the song and I was very excited to put my kind of twist on it. I have ‘Skyscraper’ and I am constantly listening to it, and I can gladly say that it makes me tear up a little bit. I mean, that girl can really sing, and it’s so different.”
She added:
“That’s the thing, nowadays it’s so important to be able to be recognized and to be on the radio and for people to know automatically it’s you. And Demi has that and that’s something I really look up to. And I think me and Demi are in some ways kind of similar. We have quite a young fanbase, and this is very much a girl power song. You know, it has a great feel to it, and I’m so excited that people get to hear it now”
And the good things do not stop there for Cher Lloyd. As well as working with Demi Lovato, Cher is also working on a collaborative track with Ne-Yo. Cher says that she and Ne-Yo are getting all the components together and should have the track completed later this year.
British singer/rapper Cher Lloyd will join Scottish soul singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé as headliners at this year’s Capital Pride Festival, organizers announced today. The trio of young female pop acts are all stars in Europe but still bubbling up in the U.S.
As Metro Weekly announced yesterday, Sandé will perform Sunday, June 9, in the 4 p.m. hour on the Capitol Stage, which as in years past will be set up on a closed-off section of Pennsylvania Avenue a few blocks west of the U.S. Capitol. Icona Pop will take the stage in the 6 p.m. hour and Lloyd will go last, performing in the 7 p.m. window. The day’s festivities will end in a dance party until sunset, approximately 9 p.m. In addition to running a couple hours later than in years past, the 38th Capital Pride Festival will also start an hour later, at noon.
The third runner-up during one season of the U.K. version of The X Factor, Cher Lloyd has both a U.K. No. 1 single, “Swagger Jagger,” and a Top 10 album on the U.K. chart, Sticks & Stones, to her credit. And the 19-year-old’s first U.S. single, “Want U Back,” is pure pop confection. The New York Times has called Lloyd “the future.”

[NEWS] From innocent princess to punk rocker at Radio Disney Awards Show
Arriving at the Radio Disney Music Awards, Cher Lloyd looked as innocent as one of Walt’s famous princesses.
The British singer went for pure nude, in a pretty a strapless Angela Balek bow dress with matching Christian Louboutin shoes and Tivon jewellery.
But as soon as Cher, 19 stepped on stage, the angelic smile was replaced by a devilish pout as she turned into a punk rocker to perform at the star-studded event on Saturday.
Standing confidently on a pink and purple thrown, Cher lifted her hand up in defiance, wearing a black crop-top, tartan trousers with chains hanging from them, and studded black biker boots.
Her smooth waves had been roughed up to match her anarchist attitude, bringing a new brand of Disney princess to the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
And clearly, the former X Factor contestant wanted to make a huge impact at the awards event, something she wrote about earlier in the day.
