[NEWS] Cher Lloyd defends Cheryl Cole’s quick marriage
Cher Lloyd has defended Cheryl Cole’s choice to marry her boyfriend of three months.
The ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ singer wed her French beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a private ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique earlier this month and Cher – who married long-term boyfriend Craig Monk last year – believes thinks it’s ”amazing” her former ‘X Factor’ mentor has found love again.
Speaking on Birmingham’s Free Radio, Cher said: ”I’m really happy for her. There is no reason for anyone not to be happy for her. I have been looking at Twitter a lot and a lot of people are saying,
‘Oh, three months this and three months that.’
”You can’t put a time on anything and people should realise you only have one life and you don’t know what is going to happen to you.
”So I feel that it’s amazing for her to be able to do that, and fingers crossed she has little babies. She is going to have beautiful children.”
The 20-year-old singer also offered Cheryl, 31, marital advice, cautioning the singer to ”pick her battles” with Jean-Bernard.
She said: “One of the things I have learned is pick your battles. If he’s left a wet towel on the bed, pick it up and remove it yourself. There is no point going over the same thing again and again, because he won’t listen. He will not remember to not put a wet towel on the bed.
”But then in other situations where he’s really hacked you off, that’s your battle that you pick. That’s something that I do.”
[NEWS] Cher Lloyd: “I’m more comfortable with my style now”
An edgy urban look, coupled with numerous tattoos and a frequently outspoken attitude won pint-sized singer Cher Lloyd a reputation that often preceded her music.
But as she promotes sophomore album Sorry I’m Late and its forthcoming single Sirens the versatile singer, rapper and former X Factor contestant has revealed a new, mature and altogether more considered look.
Cher, 20, showed her softer side in a new black and white shoot for fashion magazine Wonderland – completed during a recent promotional trip to the UK from her new home in Los Angeles.
The Malvern born star poses for two shots, the first of which finds her gazing wistfully at the camera lens while leaning against a park bench, a varsity jacket draped across her shoulders.
Another sees her sporting a plain knitted sweater as she rests on the grass, her long hair kept loose and naturally parted as she adopts a demure pose.
Speaking to the style magazine about her ever-changing looks she said: ‘I’m much more comfortable and confident with my look and style now. When I was on The X Factor I couldn’t 100% be myself. I felt like I was being pulled and tugged in different directions.
‘I felt that I wasn’t good enough and had self-confidence issues. Everyone was saying ‘you should wear this’, and it was confusing.’
She added: ‘I was OK before – I was the sort of girl who didn’t really care what people thought of me, so to be put in that position on the show was quite difficult. I’m 21 very soon, so I’ve grown up at lot since I was 16!’ (more…)

[NEWS] Cher Lloyd’s Second Album Won’t Be ‘Bubblegum’ or ‘Childish’
Cher Lloyd is only 20 years old. But as someone who broke into the recording industry at the tender age of 17, after winning the 2011 UK edition of The X Factor, then scoring a breakout smash single with “Want U Back” from her first album Sticks & Stones, the singer is already used to the attention she gets. Now however, as the notoriously outspoken songstress prepares to release her long-overdue, and aptly titled second album, Sorry I’m Late (due on May 27th), she says she’s a far different, decidedly more mature individual. “I feel like a real artist now,” Lloyd told ELLE.com. “This record, regardless of how it’s going to do or how people are going to respond to it, I’m so proud of it.”
Lloyd, who married Craig Monk in November, cut professional ties with Simon Cowell last year, citing creative differences. So now that means the pressure is solely on the singer’s shoulders to deliver the goods. But as she told us when we rang her up on a recent morning to talk her new album, evolution as an artist, and longtime love of hip-hop, Lloyd relishes the opportunity to lay it all on the line. “It’s my responsibility to take the reigns,” she said. “It’s up to me to make the big decisions now.”
It’s been a while since you put out your debut album. You must be thrilled to finally release a new album?
I feel like I’ve waited way too long. I’ve now gone past that stage of really needing it to come out. I’m now at the point where it’s like “OK, I’m done with waiting. My fans are done with waiting too.” I wish I could just put it out tomorrow. And I feel like this album is completely me. I’m not saying that my previous album wasn’t me; it was pieces of me. But I didn’t have as much control over it. And this album I’ve had one hundred percent control: I’ve chosen the track list, I’ve chosen who I wanted to work with. So it’s a massive step for me.
Your new single, the soaring ballad “Sirens,” reflects your increased maturity and evolution as an artist.
It exposes me. I feel like it shows the exact artist that I am. I’ve waited so long for a song like this. It gives me a massive opportunity to show people that I can sing. I’m not used to singing ballads; it’s what I did in the beginning. So it’s nice to bring that back. And it’s nice to have a song with a lot of meaning as opposed to previous singles where it’s all been a bit bubblegum and kind of childish. Now I’m trying to be a lot more grown up and show the softer side of me.

[NEWS] “Sorry I’m Late” will be released in March?
“Sorry I’m Late” is the upcoming second studio album by English singer-songwriter and rapper Cher Lloyd. The album is scheduled for release in March 2014 via Syco and Epic Records. It comes preceded by the lead T.I.-assisted single “I Wish“, released on September 2. Still no confirmed tracklist.
About the album she said in a interview with Billboard.com:
I think it has two meanings, It’s been a long time since I’ve actually done anything new, but for me, it’s as a person. I mean, I’ve spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out who I am, and I think everybody goes through that. I think that album title basically sums up all the music, too. It’s been a long time, and here it is, and I’m really sorry that it’s a little late!
According the latest issue of Seventeen magazine, the new album is scheduled for release during March.
Finally, we get more Cher! The singer said her upcoming album, which comes out in March, will be a bit more grown up than ‘Sticks & Stones’, but still tons of fun. In other words, get ready for your spring playlist to be full of Cher!
